Pink and green has been a favorite color combination of mine ever since I can remember but I have never really used it much. This is one of several pieces that I have done recently trying out various pinks and greens.
18 mesh canvas, Sandstone
The Smyrna Cross outline was done with Anchor Pearl Cotton, colors #217(dk dusty green)
and #214(lt green)
The octagons were worked with Anchor #896(dk dusty pink) Pearl Cotton, crewel wool in a dk
dusty pink, Anchor floss, #895, DMC Flower Thread 2329, DMC Pearl Cotton #644(the
neutral), and Fiesta F720(dk Green)
The background was done in Anchor Pearl Cotton, color #215 and the neutral , DMC #644.
The center design is also a quilt square design known as "twisting star" and was worked in Alternating Tent Stitches in 3 shades of the dusty pink.
