Lacemakers in Australia

In September and October 2002 I took a trip to Australia, where I met and stayed with some email friends from the lacemakers' email list, arachne. Some of them are a bit camera shy, so I've shown photos of the places they live.

Snake Dreaming
Art path
My first stop in Australia was Darwin, where I met Jackie Bowhey. These pictures were taken at the 'lagoon' (an inland lake) where Jackie walks her dog Dags evey day. They show a snake from the dreamtime, which becomes the art path; the path was designed and made by the local community.

Australian Lace Guild dinner

The Australian Lace Guild had their 2002 congress in Adelaide. I was able to time my visit to spend a couple of nights there catching up with e-friends. I only have a picture of a very few of them, from the Saturday night dinner. From the left:
Glenda, Kaye Dexter (Michelle Long's Mum), Helene Gannac, me (wearing Honiton collar), Chris Hancock (standing), Hannah Tudor (Michelle's daughter), Shirley Bowers, Michelle Long. The photo was taken by Helene's husband, Graeme.
