Shirley Shone designed and made this badge to wear at stitching shows. The letters are cross stitched in cotton on a 28 count even weave and outlined in Madeira Jewel thread. The stitching is mounted on an oval foam padded shape intended for Christmas tree decorations, 3.5 by 2.75 inches. Shirley worked the beading round the edge using a technique that she learnt for making beaded reticules. The beaded fringe idea came from amulet purses as did the necklace part.
