Cream Aida 10 fabric.
Branches in leaf stitch in Caron Watercolours shade Evergreen, one strand. Leaf stitch is also known as Fir stitch. Make the top upright stitch of each branch over 4 threads, then the diagonal ones alternately and finish with the vertical stitch. See Anchor Book of Canvaswork Stitches and Patterns (page 66 in the first edition) by Eve Harlow, published by David and Charles.
Trunk in long stitch, DMC shade 3031 dark brown, 4 strands. Long stitch is Satin, Flat or Straight stitch worked over a larger than usual number of threads.
Basket outlined in 2 strands of DMC 434, burnt orange. Do the outlining first to make the compensation stitches on the basket itself easier to see.
Basket in upright plaited gobelin stitch in DMC shade 61, shaded from cream to deep orange/brown. 4 strands used, deliberately unmatched to give a basketwork effect. Start at the top edge of the basket; work a line of straight stitches over one horizontal and two vertical threads, angled from top left to bottom right, compensating at the edges. Start the next row of stitches one thread down from the preceding row and work the stitches in the opposite direction i.e. top right to bottom left, again over one horizontal and two vertical threads. It would be possible to do half rows to compensate along top and bottom, but I found that with the outlining this was not necessary.
