Pansy Bookmark

This bookmark was made in May 1999 for an exchange organised by the e-tatters mailing list. My exchange partner, Karey Solomon, requested a bookmark in green and purple, which made me think of pansies. The loopy yellow centres with unused long picots were inspired by seeing a piece that Rosemary Peel was working on. The overlapping petals idea came from a roses piece on Suzann Welker's site. I needed to get two shades of purple into the petals which, after several experiments, turned into the doubled chains. By joining the inner chains back down to the centre I got the dip in the petal shape I wanted.
